Starting at 9:00 AM in Downtown Long Beach, we’ll pedal our way through some of the city’s most storied streets and charming neighborhoods — including East Village, Bluff Heights, Bluff Park, Alamitos Beach, Carroll Park, and Willmore City — before finishing before noon at the beautiful Bembridge House.
This easy, 10-mile ride is designed for all skill levels and includes plenty of stops to admire architectural gems and hear fascinating tales of Long Beach’s colorful past from our guide.

Walk one of Long Beach's most iconic neighborhoods on a docent-led tour spanning more than 20 buildings and a century of architecture grandeur — from 1905 Craftsman cottages to Mid-Century Modern showpieces.
Hear the stories behind the homes: oil fortunes, Hollywood stars, a girlhood that shaped the L.A. Music Center, decorative lampposts, and a fight that saved the oceanfront (at least temporarily) from high-rise development and created the 2nd landmark historic district.
This rare outing includes backyard and interior glimpses not usually open to the public, plus a break for light refreshments. Tours like this don't come around often — get your tickets before it sells out.

Learn about Bluff Heights hidden history on a guided walking tour followed by a PICNIC LUNCH in Bixby Park!
This informative, docent-led walking tour will explore the early human history of Bluff Heights, starting with native Tongva tribes followed by early Twentieth Century history of our neighborhood and growth of Long Beach. Our knowledgable guides will also share interesting facts about the lost Pacific Electric Railway, once the most sophisticated electric railway system in the world more than a century ago.
Our tour will stop to see our historic interpretive panel at JugBand so you see the Pacific Electric Railway map and learn about the interesting history of the Bungalow Grocery along with other historic landmark buildings along Broadway. We'll also quickly explore the Lowena Drive historic district and explore the unique Chateauesque Architecture before ending around lunchtime with refreshments and a light picnic social at Bixby Park's Saturday farmers’ market.

Long Beach Heritage is proud to introduce Music & Moonlight, a new free monthly summer concert series as part of Summer of Architecture, set beneath the stars at the historic Bembridge House.
Held in the charming front yard, this series invites the community to gather for relaxed, open-air evenings filled with live music, local talent, and the unmistakable ambiance of one of Long Beach’s most beloved historic spaces. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, low chairs, and their favorite picnic fare while enjoying performances staged from the home’s picturesque front porch.

Join Billie Jean King Library and local historian and LBPL librarian, Maureen Neeley for a fascinating afternoon exploring the history of the city's early construction and development. Early Long Beach boasted a number of talented architects, but it had a truckload of design-builders and contractors who built the majority of the city's homes and apartments. Today's neighborhoods are filled with early 20th century plan book designs of Craftsman, Storybook, Spanish, and Tudor revivals built by talented contractors. Who were they? Where and what did they build and why? Limited seating available; first-come, first-served.
The Miller Special Collections Room is on the first floor of the Billie Jean King Main Library, located at 200 W. Broadway (on the corner of Broadway & Pacific). Library parking is available in the structure at Broadway & Chestnut Avenue. With library validation, parking is free for the first 30 minutes & $2.00 for 2 hours; daily maximum is $12.
